Rockstar have shared a reveal trailer for the much-anticipated next instalment in the Grand Theft Auto series... and it's full of teases about what we can expect!
GTA VI, which is due out in 2025, will arguably the biggest video game release of all time. Each game in the series surpasses the previous one for sales and impact, so it's likely this will be no different.
In the teaser above, we see a female character called Lucia being released from prison, which suggests the first playable woman in the series, with the protagonist having been male in each previous edition. There's a suggestion that Lucia may team up with a male character, but whether that person is also playable remains to be seen...
GTA V had introduced three interchangeable main characters, but these were all men, so this marks a new direction for the franchise.
The signs suggest a return to Vice City, a Miami-inspired city from an earlier GTA game, but rumours also suggest GTA VI will span several cities. Could this mean a return to Liberty City too? Or San Andreas?
Wildlife looks set to be a big feature in GTA VI. The previous game had the likes of dogs and sharks, as part of a limited expansion of the animal kingdom within the game, but the next instalment looks set to take a leaf from the Red Dead Redemption playbook. Dolphins, flamingos and alligators all feature in the trailer, as well as an iconic fan-boat gliding across Rockstar's version of the Florida Everglades.
Social media also appears to be a feature in GTA VI, with a number of mobile video style clips appearing through the teaser. Mobiles were introduced from GTA IV onwards, so this seems like a logical next step. How it plays out in the game is a mystery at this point...
