Being away from home can be tough. The unfamiliar environment, lack of home comforts and the disrupted routine can take their toll, but international cricketers are well versed in this way of life.
During a recent trip to Delta Hotels by Marriott Worsley Park Country Club, Ben Stokes, Jason Roy and Matty Potts spoke with JCC about their top tips for making a hotel feel like home.
"I think unpacking is a big thing for me," Jason said. "If I’m kind of living out my suitcase, I feel like a muppet, but if I can get there, unpack, put my stuff away, feel a bit more [settled].
"Especially in the bathroom, get your sort of area there sorted out. Deodorants, aftershave, everything out. Bang bang."
Jason's useful tip was followed by Stokesy, who had a harder-to-achieve means of coping with life in a hotel.
"It's a pretty tough one this, but just become England captain, then you get a suite!" He joked, getting a big laugh from his teammates.
"That is quite homely, isn't it?" Jason responded mockingly.
"Oh, it was coming out of my mouth and I was like… ahhh!" Stokes added.
"You know, it's great to lead the team out, but when you walk in that door and you got the suite, like… ooh!"
