The XR Sports Alliance — a global network developing immersive training tools for athletes — has added 10 new members this month, expanding its reach to more than 20 organisations.

From virtual-reality focus drills to augmented-reality coaching environments, these innovations are helping athletes strengthen mental focus under pressure.

“We’ve known for years that focus is trainable,” says Dr. Chloe Tan, a performance psychologist and advisor to the XR Alliance.

“What’s new is that athletes can now simulate high-stress competition moments safely — and repeat them until composure becomes instinct.”

For The Edge reader, the takeaway is clear: focus isn’t only about mindfulness or meditation. It’s about conditioning the mind to stay calm and efficient — and the tech now exists to help you do it.
