Education is the key to the levelling up of athletes in the modern day, according to Jason Roy.

It's commonly accepted that this generation of sports stars have more athleticism, simply by virtue of the increasing demands that are placed on them.

But those demands reach way beyond the field, pitch or track, and into areas like nutrition, training, recovery and reset.

Professionalism is required in every aspect of an elite athlete's life - and Roy says that constantly learning about your body and mind is essential.

"Education around being a professional is way easier now," said the England batter and 4CAST star.

"So nutrition, how you look after your body, your training, your mindset, going into games, the technique side of things... everything has come along so far based on the education you get around the game.

"Social media has played a part in that, obviously, but there is just a general progression of sport as a whole around the world, in any sport.

"So yeah, the demands are higher because the levels are getting higher now."

"People are pushing boundaries in every game because they're trying to do something special."

Jason was speaking with Ben Stokes, Matty Potts and JCC at Delta Hotels by Marriott Worsley Park Country Club.
