Matty Potts has a comprehensive recovery routine that gives him the best chance to perform at an elite level.
But as with all athletes, there's a part of the recovery process that he doesn't especially enjoy - but he gets on with it anyway.
For the England bowler and 4CAST athletes, it's the shock to the system that comes with a dramatic change in body temperature.
"I do it anyway, but ice baths is the biggest challenge for me," says Matty, speaking to us pitchside at the Adelaide Oval in Australia.
"You've sometimes got to try and psyche yourself up for an ice bath, especially when you're really warm. Especially out here in Australia.
"You finish a day's play, you're sweating, you're absolutely boiling. And you think, yeah, an ice bath would be quite nice, but then you jump in and it feels 10 times colder than it normally would if you were just normal temperature.
"Yeah, you've got to kind of set yourself up a bit to get into the ice bath!"
